Hampshire County Council has launched its budget consultation for 2027/28, inviting residents, partners and stakeholders to share their views on the financial challenges facing the authority and the options being considered to balance its budget.

The Council is forecasting a budget shortfall of almost £199 million in 2027/28, with rising demand and costs, particularly across adult and children’s social care, contributing to the financial pressures.

The consultation provides an opportunity to consider the proposals and share views on the future of local services, including those supporting vulnerable adults and communities.

HCA is encouraging members to review the consultation and contribute their views.

The consultation closes at 11.59pm on Sunday 13 December 2026.
