Location
Solent Cliffs is located in the 18th century small village of Hill Head almost midway between the ports of Southampton and Portsmouth adjacent to the Meon Valley nature reserve and the tiny tidal harbour of Hill head heaven. Many of the bedrooms have lovely spectacular and uninterrupted views over the garden to the sea into Osborne Bay and Cowes, with the Isle of Wight shore from Bembridge in the East and beyond Yarmouth in the West.
Specialist Care Provided
The home offers nursing care to residents over the age of 55 years, residents who are terminally ill or residents who have a physical disability. Solent Cliffs Nursing Home is also able to offer specialist continuing care.
Distinguishing Characteristics of the Home
Solent Cliffs works very hard to maintain a healthy quality of life for its residents. To this goal, the home employs a full time activities co-ordinator to provide stimulating and interesting activities taking into account individual residents’ interest. Daily activities are offered including games, bingo, quizzes, crafts as well as trips to local shops and pleasure of a stroll along the sea front. Solent Cliffs also has an open door visitor’s policy.

Facilities at the Home
The building comprises bright and welcoming main house and an annex, which are joined by a ground floor corridor. Bedrooms comprise three companion and twenty nine single rooms. All rooms have television and telephone points and safety features such as individually controlled heating and a 24 hour nurse call. Many rooms also offer en suite facilities. All bedrooms are furnished to a high standard. Residents are welcomed to bring personal belonging and small items of furniture.
Access to cordless phone is easily available as are deliveries of newspapers and magazines. There is a shaft lift so that residents may access the first floor. Communal space in the main house consists of a large comfortable quiet and well furnished lounge and a conservatory where residents may meet to chat and enjoy activities. The annex has a large bright comfortable sun lounge which provides meeting places for residents and guests. There are landscaped gardens to the front and side of the Home with seating provided where residents can sit on sunny afternoons. Local facilities include shops, chemist and GP.
