Membership Benefits & The Hampshire Care Association

Just a few reasons to join Hampshire Care in 2010

Last year we sent out in excess of 80 emails to members highlighting issues relevant to our sector. In many cases members of our Executive Committee have studied consultations and documents so that we have been able to advise members of the parts relevant to you. We will continue to do this on your behalf in 2010 HCA also responed to consultations through the course of the year.

We have also had numerous meetings with Hampshire County Council in an endeavor to meet a Fair Price, and in fact last year the 5% rate increase from HCC was one of the highest in the country. Throughout the year we have had continued dialogue with HCC, Southampton City Council and Portsmouth City Council and indeed we now have regular meetings with all three to represent our members concerns and issues. We are currently awaiting confirmation from HCC & SCC on this years fees before considering our response to all 3 LA's.

Our Chairman, Neil Sykes, attends all the Safeguarding Meetings and has had an enormous impact on raising the profile of Safeguarding and its subsequent outcomes beyond the LA’s arena. We recognize that current issues regarding Safeguarding and Social Services are one of the most, if not the most important concerns of home owners at the present time, and are currently in the process of advising members how to proceed if and when they have a Safeguarding Issue.

Registration is moving quickly to the top of the current agenda. To help our members keep up to date with the diary of events we wil be holding regular forums the first of which is on March 12th 2010. To find out more about the event and the frontline speakers we have engaged visit The Hampshire Care Forum on the events page.
